I am from New York state and now I live on the west coast of Florida, wishing I was a little farther north. I have a full time job and a big old house that needs fixin up and about half a minute a day for my knitting. Most of my knitting is for other people. I have a group at my church called the Second Saturday Stitchers and we get together and knit (crochet, quilt, sew) for charities. Look for more information here..

Here I am with my paternal grandmother Ruth Bedford Watts. The only knitter in my family as far as I know. I do believe her mother Mary Bedford knitted also. Maybe some of my family members can help me out here. I am calling for any family knitting pictures or history that you all can stir up. Oh, and though they are technically not knitted, any sock monkeys in the family are welcome on the site also!

I have been searching the internet to find someone that makes custom vintage Christmas stockings and happened upon your blog. I have twin baby girls and thought it would be fun to have some hand made stockings for them like th kind I had as a kid in the 60’s and still cherish today. I have a stocking that is similar to yours with the angora fuzz on santa’s beard and my sister had one with the sequins as ornaments on a Christmas tree.
Do you know anyone that does this anymore? Could I commission you to knit some? A reply would be greatly appreciated and a call even better.
